This
intriguing drama looks like a sure-fire hit....
even if it hits a tad bit too close to home for
some.... Aggressive
Advocacy
Harvard
Law School's Black Law Students Association held
their annual
conference this weekend. This well-planned,
powerful conference included
prominent members of the legal, entertainment,
and media communities, among others.
There
is a new, complex virus named "Fizzer" that
is being spread by Kazaa. Me thinks there
is an
angle here
for the
conspiracy
theorists.
let me give you a hint: It involves a certain
record industry association.... The
RIAA's Watching Your Employees
It continues. The Record Industry Association of
America (RIAA) is now informing hundreds
of companies about how their employees are using
the respective companies' corporate networks to infringe
on the copyrights of its members, i.e. download and
swap music files. Whatever one thinks of this and
related actions by the RIAA, one can admire their
thoroughness and persistence, even if it is misguided.
It will also be interesting to see how the informed companies react.
Radio
One, the largest black owned radio station network
founded by Cathy Hughes, is partnering
with Comcast
to form a cable channel to rival BET. Although early
indications are that they will seek a more mature
target audience,
this deal will shake up the urban television industry.
